Is Topgolf priced per person or per bay? Per bay, by the hour, and that one fact explains almost every bill. Recent rate cards we checked put a standard bay at roughly $30 to $68 an hour, with up to six players sharing it, so a full bay on a weekday evening can cost each player less than a movie ticket, while a couple pays the same rate for the same bay. First-time players add a one-time $6 account fee at the venues whose pages we read.
Below are the seven questions people actually ask before they book, answered in the order they tend to come up. One honest caveat for 2027 planning: Topgolf does not publish a national price list. Every venue sets its own rates by day and hour, so treat the figures here as the range you should expect and check your venue’s page before you go.
1. Am I paying for myself or for the whole bay?
The whole bay. Topgolf’s Dallas venue page states it plainly: prices are per hour, per hitting bay, for up to six players, and sales tax is extra. Unlike a bowling alley that charges by the head, the bay rate stays flat whether you bring one friend or five.
That turns group size into the biggest lever you control. Here is the same hour at a $52 evening rate, the weekday price Durham and Charlotte venues listed in 2025, split different ways. This is simple arithmetic on a posted rate, not a quote.
| Players in the bay | Cost each, one hour | Cost each, two hours |
|---|---|---|
| 2 | $26.00 | $52.00 |
| 3 | $17.33 | $34.67 |
| 4 | $13.00 | $26.00 |
| 6 | $8.67 | $17.33 |
The exceptions are the deals that switch to per-person pricing, such as weekday-morning unlimited play at $15 a head, covered below. Those can be a bargain for one or two people and a poor deal for six.
2. What will an hour cost at my venue?
It depends mostly on the clock. Rates climb through the day and peak on Friday and Saturday nights. Two dated local rate cards show how wide the spread runs:
| Venue and source | Cheapest posted rate | Midday | Evening |
|---|---|---|---|
| Durham and Charlotte, NC (local guides, June 2025) | $30 open to noon | $40 noon to 5 p.m. | $52 after 5 p.m. |
| Hillsboro, OR (Portland Living on the Cheap, August 2026) | $30 late Fri and Sat nights | $42 to $68 standard rates, by day and time | |
Big-city and tourist venues sit higher. The Golfer’s Yard, a golf site that compiles venue pricing, reported Las Vegas bays at about $49 on weekday mornings and $100 on Saturday evenings in spring 2026. If your group can only go at 8 p.m. on a Saturday, budget for the top of your venue’s range and book ahead, since walk-in waits are longest then.
3. When is it cheapest to go?
Weekdays before dinner, by a wide margin. Topgolf has spent 2026 pushing off-peak deals, and the pattern is consistent even though the exact offers rotate:
- Flat weekday rates. Topgolf’s own Winter Play Days promotion lists $40 per bay per hour, all day Monday through Thursday, at participating U.S. venues. It excludes parties, the Lounge, Swing Suites and Toptracer Range locations, and tax and gratuity are extra.
- Half-price golf. In June 2026, Topgolf announced half-price game play Monday through Thursday at every U.S. venue, according to FSR magazine. Older local guides list half-price Tuesdays at $15 to $26 a bay.
- Sunday deals. The same summer push advertised Sunday bays from $20 an hour, or $5 per person per hour for groups of four. Hillsboro listed a $40 Sunday rate in August.
- Weekday-morning unlimited play. Several venues have offered unlimited play at $15 per person from opening until noon, Monday through Friday. Hillsboro’s listing says it is for walk-ins only.
- Late nights. Hillsboro runs $30 bays from 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
Two rules hold across the deals we found: you usually cannot combine discounts on one bay, and party or event bookings are almost always excluded. Check the promotions tab on your venue’s page or in the app the week you plan to go, because these offers start and end without much notice.
Seasonal passes are worth a look if you will go often. Topgolf’s 2026 Summer Fun Pass started at $179, which the company said was more than $70 below the prior year, and covered two hours of play a day for the passholder plus up to five guests, during set weekday and weekend-morning hours from April 28 to September 7. A Pass+ version with reservations started at $199. No 2027 pass has been announced as of November 2026.
4. What gets added on a first visit?
Three things surprise first-timers more than the bay rate:
- The account fee. Every new player needs a Topgolf account. The Dallas and Omaha venue pages list a $6 one-time fee per new player; local guides from 2025 showed $5. A group of six first-timers pays $36 before swinging a club. It is a lifetime fee, so it does not come back on later visits.
- Sales tax. Posted rates exclude it, and your local rate applies to game play as well as food.
- Tip. Bays are served by staff, and Topgolf’s promotions note that gratuity is not included. Tip on the food and drink you order as you would at a restaurant.
Clubs are not on the list. Topgolf supplies them at no charge, including kids’ sizes, so leave the rental line out of your budget.
5. How much do food and drinks add to the tab?
Often as much as the golf. Topgolf’s own business mix makes that clear. Before the 2026 sale, food and beverage brought in about a third of revenue, more than game play itself, according to D Magazine’s review of company disclosures.
Food and beverage made up about 33% of Topgolf’s revenue, game play about 29% and events about 34%.

Menus vary by venue and change every few months, so there is no single national menu price to quote. The Golfer’s Yard estimated about $22 per person for food and $14 to $18 per person for drinks in spring 2026. Watch for drink specials: Topgolf’s summer 2026 promotion offered $5 domestic beers and $6 margaritas all day.
A sample evening shows how the totals stack up. Four adults book two hours at a $52 evening rate ($104), two are first-timers ($12 in fees), and everyone orders food and one drink at the estimates above (about $150 to $160). Before tax and tip, that is roughly $270, or about $67 each, and the golf is well under half of it. This is an illustration built from the figures above, not a real receipt.
6. What does a birthday party or group event cost?
Topgolf prices parties per person, and it does not publish those prices nationally; they appear only after you pick a venue online. What the package includes is consistent. The kids and teen birthday package includes two hours of game play, Topgolf accounts for every player, kids’ clubs and a setup team. You can book online for 7 to 24 players, 3 to 60 days ahead, and larger or corporate groups go through a request form.
For a group of six or fewer, an ordinary bay reservation is almost always cheaper than a party package, since the bay rate is shared and you order food as you go. Packages earn their price at seven players and up, when you need two bays, a fixed food spread and a host. Ask the sales team whether off-peak discounts apply: weekday promotions exclude events, but Topgolf’s Heroes Program has offered 10% off event game play and room rental for military members, first responders, healthcare workers and teachers who book through a sales associate.
7. Will Topgolf prices go up in 2027?
Nothing has been announced. The more telling signal is who owns the company now. Callaway sold a 60% stake in Topgolf to the private equity firm Leonard Green & Partners in a deal valuing the business at about $1.1 billion, which closed in early 2026. The sale followed a rough stretch: same-venue sales fell 12% in the first quarter of 2025 and 6% in the second, and the average customer visited just 1.2 times a year, according to D Magazine.
A company trying to win back repeat visitors tends to compete on deals, not raise the sticker price, and 2026 followed that script with a cheaper summer pass, half-price weekdays and flat $40 bays. Local coverage of a Tennessee venue in February 2026 told readers to expect “more competitive prices.” That suggests promotions will continue, but it is not a pricing commitment, so verify rates when you book.
Smaller questions that come up at the check-in desk
Is there a minimum booking time at Topgolf?
Yes, typically one hour. Bays are reserved in hourly blocks, and the Hillsboro, Oregon, venue lists a one-hour minimum. You can usually add time at the bay if it is not booked after you.
Can kids play at Topgolf, and are there age rules?
Kids are welcome, and youth-size clubs are provided. The Dallas venue requires players under 16 to be supervised by a guest 21 or older at all times, and players under 18 to have a 21-plus guest with them after 9 p.m. Check your venue’s rules, since policies can differ.
Does Topgolf have a military or teacher discount?
Topgolf’s Heroes Program has offered 10% off game play for active military, veterans, police, firefighters, EMS, healthcare workers and teachers with valid ID. Discounts generally cannot be stacked with other promotions on the same bay.
Are Swing Suites priced the same as regular bays?
No. Topgolf Swing Suites, the simulator lounges often found in hotels, set their own prices, and Topgolf’s weekday bay promotions specifically exclude them, along with Lounge areas and Toptracer Range locations.
Is the Top Golf price the same at every location?
No. Each venue sets its own hourly bay rates by day and time, so the same Saturday evening can cost very different amounts in two cities. Check the pricing on your specific venue’s page or in the app before booking.

A five-point check for booking your bay
- Pick the day first. Monday through Thursday before 5 p.m. is usually the cheapest time you can book.
- Fill the bay. Six players at one rate beats two bays of three.
- Open your venue’s promotions page and use exactly one deal; they rarely stack.
- Count new players and add $6 each for accounts.
- Set a food budget before you sit down, since the menu can outrun the golf.
